Project Description
The inspiration right now comes, among other things, Swedish artist John Bauer, and the myth of the Skogsrå (Forest Spirit).
According to folklore, if you heard a ringing, teasing laugh while wandering in the woods, you had to be cautious—it could be the Skogsrå. She often revealed herself to men who had spent a long time in the forest.
The Skogsrå was strikingly beautiful and used her appearance and laughter to lure men deeper into the forest, causing them to lose their way. Her name translates to "the ruler of the forest," signifying her dominion over its riches. She had the power to both grant and withhold hunting luck. According to legend, she protected the forest's animals and plants, and those who took too much from the forest risked provoking her wrath.
If a man fell in love with the Skogsrå, she would gain control over him, never letting him go. To avoid this, a man must never reveal his true name to her.
And now, I’ve brought the Skogsrå into 2024.
It seems that some of my ladies have snuck out of the forest and headed off on holiday to Rome and London to catch a glimpse of their favorite band, Coldplay!
