What unfolds before the viewer is not merely a digital work, but an animated fine-art rendering — a painting brought to life, where the grandeur of the Renaissance meets the language of contemporary technology. Throughout the history of art, Venus has embodied love, beauty, and harmony; her birth from the sea foam remains one of the most iconic mythological metaphors. Yet, while both antiquity and the Renaissance emphasized her divine origins, the image of motherhood through pregnancy was long visually avoided: explicit representations of pregnancy in Western art remained rare, often considered incompatible with the idealized form of a goddess. This work proposes a new interpretation — a reimagining of the very act of birth. Artificial intelligence and authorial animation transform the classical narrative into a contemporary ode to femininity, where the Birth of Venus becomes the Rebirth of Venus. In her hands rests a second shell — a symbolic reflection of the womb, an allegory of life’s inception. The goddess’s gaze, tenderly turned toward this “shell-womb,” and her soft, reverent smile fuse the divine and the human: she remains a goddess, yet simultaneously appears as a woman, filled with awe and love. The compositional structure deepens this experience. A cerulean sky with delicate clouds evokes a sense of divine presence, setting in relief Venus’s flame-red hair, flowing like sunlit waves across the shore. The blue of the sea and the white spray of the surf converse with the pearlescent surface of the great shell, its semi-translucent orange radience echoing the tones of her hair. In this interplay of hues emerges a harmonious tension — the eternal dialogue of the celestial and the earthly. Venus’s attire, woven by AI from the finest lace-like textures, is so ethereal and weightless it seems spun from air and seafoam. The hem of her dress flows seamlessly into the pearlescent shell, evoking the sculptural curves of ocean waves and transforming a static image into living movement. There is no trace of unveiled corporeality here—only a restrained, elevated aesthetic, where purity of form and delicacy of detail become the canvas for poetic meaning. The brief animation (a seamless nine seconds) breathes life into the image: the movement of waves, the whisper of wind in her hair, and the cadence of classical music create an atmosphere of contemplation and reverence, akin to standing before a Renaissance masterpiece. This is not a reproduction of Botticelli, but an original interpretation — a dialogue with tradition in which the classical finds a contemporary voice. For me, creating an image is like solving an equation: light and textures become formulas, emotions are the variables, and the final result is a harmony that cannot be expressed in words. I work both as an artist and as a researcher. Art, to me, is a field of experiments where mathematics meets poetry, and rigorous engineering is intertwined with the sensitivity of the human gaze. Each piece is an attempt to construct a “formula of the moment” that makes the viewer pause and feel their own breath. At the heart of my work lies the human being: the body, the face, the skin. The slightest stroke can transform the expression of the eyes, and with it — the entire emotional landscape of the artwork. These details become coordinates of the soul.
