The Silence Beneath the Skin This work emerges from a reflection on the fragility of identity and the endless process of transformation that defines the human condition. The peeling skin, merging with the cracked wall, becomes a metaphor for the thin boundary between life and stillness, between appearance and inner truth. It evokes the necessity of metamorphosis — painful yet vital — as an act of both aesthetic and spiritual rebirth. The visual language recalls time-worn plaster sculptures and the classical myths of metamorphosis — from Ovid to Pygmalion — where matter becomes flesh and flesh returns to matter. The tension between eros and decay, beauty and vulnerability, lies at the heart of the piece: the cracks do not destroy, they reveal. Emblematic of my artistic vision, this image merges photographic realism with surreal expression to explore the threshold between the human and the symbolic. Within it coexist beauty and introspection, body and concept — a dialogue between the skin that falls away and the soul that awakens beneath.
