This series shows women as if they were living statues, dressed in gowns that look more like armour or architecture than fashion. The images are inspired by old royal portraits, when queens and noblewomen were often shown as symbols of power and wealth, but also trapped in heavy clothes and strict poses. In these works, the women still carry that weight, but they also take control of it. Their stillness feels powerful, not passive. The dramatic dresses and theatrical settings make them look like monuments — timeless figures who show both the beauty and the cost of being placed on display. The Sculptural Court is about how power can look beautiful yet feel heavy, and how women can turn that burden into strength.
