This work is part of The Gilded Stranger series, a self-portrait visualized through the form of an insect. Within the world we call Earth, I may appear outwardly as an ordinary human, yet I reflect myself as a stranger—strange, uncanny, and at the same time beautiful. Reinterpreted with ornate golden decorations and organic patterns, the insect reveals both the sense of alienation I experience in society and the unique beauty inherent in existence. The Gilded Stranger series is a self-portrait experiment that unfolds this ambivalent identity in a fantastical and sculptural way.
