olastalgia a story about ghosts. The project explores the capacity of generated imaged (AI) to express true human fears. "Solastagia" means a feeling of loss or dread while seeing one's habitant becoming uninhabitable. It touched these modern pains with subtle care. As the projects aim is to make space for things that can't be comprehended by words alone. It explores the unique intersection of fashion, photography and the nature of generated images. Drawing on classic christian iconography as well as the early beginnings of analogue photography, In that Solastaliga is not only. a modern poem about grief, loss and the persistence to have a place for peace, it also questions the place image generation will have in the creation of culture. It pins it up against a cultural history of ghostly images, and the ability of AI to not only re–create or re–assemble pieces of visual history but to create new and readable contexts in co–creation with human instincts.
