This film retells the myth of Vassilissa as an archetypal and alchemical journey, where childhood, death, and ancestral power intertwine. The story follows the girl who, after losing her mother, receives a skull-faced doll as a guide. Sent into the forest by her stepmother, she encounters cosmic horsemen and finally faces Baba Yaga in her hut standing on chicken legs. Each stage is a rite of transformation: the scream that dissolves innocence (nigredo), the shared drink that purifies (albedo), and the fire that seals metamorphosis (rubedo). At the climax, Vassilissa emerges as a triple being, child, witch, and skull, while three moons rise in the sky, sealing the conjunction between microcosm and macrocosm. The film does not close with a fixed ending but with an open and mythical one. Victory is not only over the witch but through the incorporation of her power. It is a celebration of ambiguity, where life and death, light and shadow, destruction and creation are integrated as forces of the deep feminine.
