Beauty Bubble
Alessia Matteucci · Italy
Conceptual & Fine Art
For me, beauty is not a universal concept but a personal filter through which each of us sees the world. Every human being carries different experiences, scars, desires, fears, values, and dreams: these are what define what we call “beautiful.” In this project, I chose to represent ten different characters, each immersed in a transparent bubble that works both as a barrier and as a lens—a glass helmet filled with elements that reflect their personal vision of beauty. These bubbles are like inner aquariums: - for some, they hold the need for control and organization; - for others, they are filled with fantasies, unicorns, and surreal dreams; - some find beauty in luxury and fame, others in the dark fascination of fetish and pain; - some see beauty in nature, others in the code of technology, some in rebellion, and others in the scars that tell their story. This filter is not always positive: society often imposes standards and values that distort our perception of beauty. Yet, within this diversity of filters lies the essence of beauty itself: it is never objective but always personal, fragmented, and deeply intimate.
