While she continues to create stunning works with acrylic paint and collages, she has also embraced AI-generated imagery, discovering a vibrant community and an exhilarating new way to express her creative visions. Join us as we explore her artistic journey, the joys of experimentation, and her advice for fellow artists navigating the world of AI.
Tick-Tock Challenge, 1st Place Winner
1. What inspired you to start working with AI for image generation?
I am originally a mixed media artist. I work with acrylic paint and make collages. In February of this year I just started making pictures using AI. I was immediately very enthusiastic and hooked. All the images I see in my head that are difficult to paint or take too much time. I can now express that through AI! I immediately created an Instagram account and started sharing my photos there and discovered that it is a large loving community of other people doing the same. Many other social media users can learn something from this.
2. How do you select the right AI tool for each project? Do you experiment with multiple platforms?
I think I’m a bit behind others in terms of techniques and tools. I’m “old school” in that regard. I just chose what is most practical for me and I do this for relaxation and only work on feeling. So I mostly use it at night while lying in bed or on the sofa on my iPad and my iPhone. I’m not much of a computer whiz either. I also don’t participate in making moving images yet, although I think it looks really great. So I hope to learn and discover a lot in the AI field in the future.
3. What surprised you the most about working with AI-generated art?
I was surprised that a different picture emerged every time. It is unbelievable that this is technically possible. It’s addictive, especially because of my ADD haha.
4. What’s one piece you’re particularly proud of that wouldn’t have been possible without AI? Can you tell us its story?
I can’t point out a particular piece that is special. Everything is special and everything is possible. In my colorful work I always combine the strength and elegance of women with something surreal.
5. What advice would you give to other artists who are curious about incorporating AI into their workflow?
The advice I want to give other artists is not to think too much, just do a lot and experiment and: just go with the flow and enjoy.
